2008 - 2013 M3 (E90, E92, E93) 2014 - 2020 M3 & M4 (F80, F82, F83) 2021 M3 & M4. The original DME In an E39 (or E46) , whether it is a 6 cyl or an 8 cyl will handle the manual swap just fine GS6-53DZ Trans - It has to be the M3 transmission due importantly to the "Zero Gear" sensor on top of the case
